'A Split Second' was a Belgian industrial disco outfit comprised of Marc Ickx and Peter Boone (Chrismar Chayell). 'Ballistic Statues', the band's first full length LP, was released early in 1987, followed by the sophomore album 'From The Inside' in 1988. The 12-inch singles Flesh, Rigor Mortis, Colosseum Crash (B/W Muscle Machine), and Mambo Witch all became club hits in Europe, and then followed a tour of the North America during the late 1980's. Unfortunately however, after the release of the third album 'Kiss Of Fury' in 1990 and a number of remixes in 1991/1992, the band split apart.
While Chrismar formed Wasteland and later joined Twilight Ritual, Marc continued with A Split Second to release 'Vengeance C.O.D.' in the mid 90's. The CD that you are now reading about is a North American-only 1988 collection on TVT records, featuring selected tracks from both the Ballistic Statues LP and their first title-less 12-inch record from 1986.
Needless to mention, it's a big disappointment to find that almost all of the releases for this classic and highly underrated industrial dance group are now out of print.
